Artist statement
This portfolio is a result of four years of experimenting with computers and printers.
The paintings are created with a mix of photographic and painted elements.
Photographs are captured digitally.  Collage, blending, and painting are done
with software, and then the work is realized on canvas, paper, and textiles.

Sometimes a piece exists just so I can enjoy the color palette. Much of the textures you see are a result of experimenting with digital noise and anomalies. Elements that are normally not visible are embraced and enhanced to create textural detail.  The subject matter is chosen to entertain and is simply a vehicle for artistic expression. Yes, I am exposing my inner self to the public with some very personal feelings and visions. But believe me, it's a lot prettier than my outer self.

The final stage in creating a piece is composing directly to large giclee printers which spray both pigments and dyes. The intense focus on the final output is the "secret ingredient" for the extreme saturation of color and 3D depth. The digital medium in use is of such high density or resolution, the work can be presented at any scale. Kaleidoscopic reflections often dominate the periphery framing the composition with a wallpaper of the abstract. A common thread is a rhythm of movement with a characteristic slow rotation.
